Whiteout 03:38
Voice inside If you’re left behind How quickly you wind Twisting in time Oh my I’m swimming in vines Come get me out I drive at night Colors pull my eyes With no one to talk But my shaking heart I slip inside Oh what I find in the dark Is beyond me I don’t mind what’s in my mind I don’t mind what’s in my mind Though it hurts sometimes Well, the snow is deep Feel my tracks come clean Turn the white noise down ‘Till I’m melting down Into silence Voice inside Voice inside Oh my Oh m

Grey 02:57
One day, one day without you is grey One hour, one hour without your smile is plain My world, my world is upside down when you’re away Did I ever tell you that my day Tends to float on something so vague ‘Till you pull up, it’s strange Like that night, you wore my clothes and I did your hair I swear It’s like we’re livin’ in one skin One day, one day my head and my heart feel astray You say, you say let’s turn it up and hit play Okay And there you are in the crowd My heart just melted but I’ll sing you a song My heart just melted but I’ll sing you a song My heart just melted but I’ll sing you a song

Wake 04:30
Have you ever seen limber bodies Roll together like the breeze? Moving like a thought Come to shift as if they’re taught Tiny parts to one machine In the deep blue-green Spheres of silver turn to shimmer Like a dream See a face unrecognized Just hit reverse and don’t collide Or you’ll end up right in between We step, we fall We swerve apart And when we go down We hold our mouths We come, we go So high and low Farther we slip The wilder our formation Have you wondered why we are so inclined To cling to a thing until we die? Even if it means we are swept away From light or what’s on the other side We go, “we know, we know, we know, we know Back up––follow, follow our step, let’s go” But I just wanna float Not wind up on the shore Or drift into the no man’s land I can straight glide, gently through the tide Smooth as a dancer, hey Let’s break down, down and out Find our way In a spill of thoughts, which is right or wrong? What is truth or just contraire? We step, we fall We swerve apart And when we go down We hold our mouths We come, we go So high and low Farther we slip The wilder our formation Oh my god, oh my god What have we done? What have we done? Oh my god, oh my god When will we learn? When will we learn?

Motioncure 04:32
Wondering, you said You said to me “I cannot heal you” “I don’t need the help,” I said to you “I’ve just got to move” We are bodies tilting over, underneath We are bodies pushing, pulling like the trees So if you can’t relate what your limbs can say Just stay here in this electric sphere, hey You can trust the beat It picks you right up and out when you need Walk it out, and lean You know what you got Don’t stop Do your thing We are bodies tilting over, underneath We are bodies pushing, pulling like the trees So if you can’t relate what your limbs can say Just stay here in this electric sphere, hey We are more, more than bodies

Unravel 03:48
Melt the sun down to starlight Send the kids crawling out of their hives Like a moth to a flame, oh it feels so right Red and blue, feel it coursing through ya Set the tempo to make it move ya I feel a warmth in my chest, oh I wonder why Slowly, slowly you unravel And you say, “no, no, no” They say, “now, now, now” They want you to come undone Days drift into cold nights You’re wearing thin at the waistline He said, “my baby’s got the blues, but she’ll be alright” Lovers looped like a broken turntable Fresh promises keeping you stable You lost count not once, not twice, three times Slowly, slowly you unravel And you say, “no, no, no” And they say, “now, now, now” They want you to come undone

Young Rush 04:33
So you’ve run out of things to say All your thoughts already played You had to know there was someone With a quicker wit and a sharper tongue Save your time and get on now Or wait a little while ’till you slow down Head over your feet, feeling so lush Just as they beat you to the–– Young rush Who is gonna look your way If you think you’re so plain Find a little quirk to your name Promise you will never feel the same Try to catch it before it’s found Reach a little higher off the ground Don’t hesitate, touch it with flair You know where to look, just feel the–– Young rush Drawing lines into space The air as a blank slate Eyes shut, he smiles Like it’s his first time See him turn, but never yearn To be something that can’t be learned So shake a little longer little child No one can touch your style Twist like miles are in the room Find your groove and ease into the–– Young rush

Techie 04:42
Sift through the endless supply Fingers numb, your heart is ice Wipe away the eager smiles There’s always one more waiting next in line You’ve played the game far too long to know You gotta leave one foot right out the door So if you can’t sit tight Jump around like a bird without flight All the while you ask yourself “Is it enough, is it enough, is it enough?” You are weak to the touch All the walls you’ve built are unstable Somehow you’ve convinced yourself “It is enough, it is enough, it is enough” Drift out on the town all night New face, new name, old lines Not quite the one you like Just toss it in the bag ‘till you change your mind You’ve played the game far too long to know You gotta leave one foot right out the door So if you can’t sit tight Jump around like a bird without flight All the while you ask yourself “Is it enough, is it enough, is it enough?” You are weak to the touch All the walls you’ve built are unstable Somehow you’ve convinced yourself “It is enough, it is enough, it is enough”

Timelapse 04:01
How to face the wind before you? It doesn’t feel right ‘Cause where you’re standing, it can’t move you You’re resistant to fly Moments move the clouds for miles How can you taste them unless you try? How can I, how can my body move? Let it fly, let it find something smooth ‘Cause when you wind right, looking hindsight Oh all the trees will look so tall How can I, how can my body move? Drops of water over time, hit rewind Turn to whisper in the sky, hit rewind Why are we mesmerized by a trace? All that we left behind, don’t erase No need to memorize Make room for new design How can I, how can my body move? Let it fly, let it find something smooth ‘Cause when you wind right, looking hindsight Oh all the trees will look so tall How can I, how can my From a distance It’s not to say don’t linger But stay too long, it tends to look the same How can I, how can my body move? Let it fly, let it find something smooth ‘Cause when you wind right, looking hindsight Oh all the trees will look so tall

Blaze 04:42
You left your strands on my bed I will soak in your scent If my heart grows weak like a wilted leaf Would you come back to me? Would you come back to me? In the blackened veil of the night Blazed the earth, we lit the sky If time could freeze an eternity Would you lie still with me? Would you lie still next to me? They all surround, spinning ‘round and ‘round and ‘round We linger on and on, tunnel gazing ‘till the dawn Oh, how the words they stray Drift into silent space And we would glance our nights away, away And we would glance our nights away Away Away

about

A fluid that has no viscosity is referred to as being Superfluid. Unhampered by friction, it flows indefinitely, and is ever-changing.

Superfluid, the debut LP by Felt Out, is a fresh meditation on movement and the apparent duality that propels us: an ever-changing spectrum of superficial tendencies, and a mysterious core which is at peace, infinitely still.

Superfluid presents several shades of nature and the human experience. There’s the lush, overflowing warmth you feel from friends for whom you can safely reveal your whole self, as explored in the synth-drenched melodies of “Grey” and “Motioncure.” There’s the dark, resigned cynicism that can only come from falling prey to the worst in others, as explored in “Unravel,” hushed, driving, and simultaneously beautiful and foreboding. There are moments of exuberant joy, tender stillness, wild dance breaks, lush chords, jagged beats –– a wash of liquid sound, emotion, and reflection.

Through this ocean of ever-changing experience, we search for that which is still, constant, true. From Superfluid’s opening track, “Whiteout”: though the snow is deep / feel my tracks come clean / turn the white noise down / ‘till I’m melting down / into silence.
